Hi guys! This is me again 🙂 Just want to let you know that this Tuesday, version 1.0.3 of the SEN Workflow Approver browser extension was released!

I've added an option for content reviewers to view all assigned tutorials pending their review. In the extension's window header, you will notice a new button called "My Tasks".

List of assigned content to review

When you click on it, you will find a list of the SAP Enable Now tutorials pending your review. If the list is empty, you don't have any tasks assigned! Enjoy your day! Tasks will appear only if they are assigned to you by the content developer or a project manager using the standard task assignment function in the Producer or Manager. If you click on the task title, the content object associated with it will be opened in a new browser tab.

Review the assigned content, and make your decision on the first screen of the extension. After the extension window closes automatically, open it again and return back to My Tasks. You will notice a small green check circle icon next to the item you've just reviewed. Should you hover a mouse over the check circle icon, you will see a tooltip telling you when the content was reviewed the last time.

Isn't it absolutely freaking cool?!

Main View and the Task List View

Some could say, why not delete the task assigned to the reviewer, once the content status got changed or the workflow transition is made? On one hand, this will make tasks automatically disappear from the My Tasks list, on the other hand, the task won't be assigned to anyone afterward. That's why I decided to use the approach with an indicator.

If you feel that the option to automatically unassign the task from the reviewer once he/she makes the decision will work better for your organization, just let me know! In one of the future releases, I can add it as an option. Adding an option to select the next assignee "my inner fairy" struggles to add as this will make the extension look more complex than it should be (also reviewers quite often have no idea who is going to be the next assignee).

Summary

  1. Content reviewers now can review ALL assigned training tutorials without leaving the browser window, simply by using the My Tasks feature.

  2. Information, whether the particular learning asset was reviewed or not is visible to every decision-maker.

All Best, Anton
